I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to have to take a break from dA for a couple of weeks.  There's a lot going on in my life right now and I simply can't keep up with everything.  Please know that I still luffs you all and I will be back a.s.a.p.  Take care of your sweet selves!

Old stuff:
The past week was much better than the week before!  Tara received her final pay without any problems which was a relief; she's settled in nicely and my house is almost back in order (albeit stuffed to the rafters).  So now I guess the next big thing is Christmas, although for my U.S. friends it will be Thanksgiving.  (I wonder why we don't have it on the same day?)  I've started my Christmas shopping which is unusual for me as I tend to be the one trying to get it all done in the week before!  

I was reading about how the U.S. electoral system works and I have to admit that I'm bemused by the fact that a candidate can win the popular vote and yet occasionally NOT be elected President!  (Case in point: Al Gore.)  Our system is a little different in that we vote for someone from a political party to represent our area in parliament and the party that holds the most seats forms the government with the party leader becoming Prime Minister of Canada.  It's simple and straight forward and we know right away who's actually going to lead the country.  Sorry to my U.S. friends but I think I prefer our system!

I'm still far behind in my devwatch although I'm trying to keep on top of my messages.  Maybe in a week or two I'll be able to say that I'm all caught up...sigh.

Anyway!  On to the Monday Haha's which leads off with another funny courtesy of VisualPoetress - thanks Michelle, I loved this one!


Anal What?

A woman calls her boss one morning and tells him that she is staying home because she is not feeling well.   

'What's the matter?' he asks.

'I have a case of anal glaucoma,' she says in a weak voice.

'What the hell is anal glaucoma?'

'I can't see my ass coming into work today.'




My Time's Up?

A 54 year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near death experience.

Seeing God she asked, 'Is my time up?'
God said, 'No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live.'

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy tuck.

She even had someone come in and change her hair color and brighten her teeth!  Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it.

After her last operation, she was released from the hospital.
While crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by an ambulance.

Arriving in front of God, she demanded, 'I thought you said I had another 43 years?  Why didn't you pull me from out of the path of the ambulance?'


- God replied: 'I didn't recognize you.'




The Cowboy

A successful rancher died and left everything to his devoted wife.

She was a very good-looking woman and determined to keep the ranch, but knew very little about ranching, so she decided to place an ad in the newspaper for a ranch hand.

Two cowboys applied for the job. One was gay and the other a drunk. She thought long and hard about it, and when no one else applied she decided to hire the gay guy, figuring it would be safer to have him around the house than the drunk. He proved to be a hard worker who put in long hours every day and knew a lot about ranching.

For weeks, the two of them worked, and the ranch was doing very well.  Then one day, the rancher's widow said to the hired hand, 'You have done a really good job, and the ranch looks great. You should go into town and kick up your heels.' The hired hand readily agreed and went into town one Saturday night.

One o'clock came, however, and he didn't return.

Two o'clock and no hired hand.

Finally he returned around two-thirty, and upon entering the room, he found the rancher's widow sitting by the fireplace with a glass of wine, waiting for him.  She quietly called him over to her.

'Unbutton my blouse and take it off,' she said. Trembling, he did as she directed.

'Now take off my boots.' He did as she asked, ever so slowly.

'Now take off my socks.' He removed each gently and placed them neatly by her boots.

'Now take off my skirt.' He slowly unbuttoned it, constantly watching her eyes in the fire light.

'Now take off my bra.' Again, with trembling hands, he did as he was told and dropped it to the floor.

Then she looked at him and said, 'If you ever wear my clothes into town again, you're fired.'

(P.S. I didn't see it coming, either.)
