Good ______________, all! (Please insert whatever time of day is applicable to your corner of the world. :D)  It never ceases to amaze me how the internet has enabled a person to have friends from all over the globe.  Amazing and quite wonderful...

I had a lovely surprise from ImaginedMoments who dedicated her latest to me for my birthday.  It's just gorgeous and I love it!
:thumb118153238:

Thank you so much, Pam - you are such a lovely and dear friend. :blowkiss:

And thank you once more to all of you who graced me with such lovely gifts, e-cards, and birthday wishes.  Your love and caring made for a birthday that was much more special than I had ever expected.
:iconchrii:

It's cold here and there is still a foot of snow in the yard.  Spring is a shy damsel this year but I hope to see her pretty face before the end of the month. (Please, please, please!)
I need :iconmimose-stock: - yes.

The features are overflowing with goodness again this week.  (Yes, it's huge!)  I hope you find some works to enjoy that you haven't seen before.  The Haha's are down there too, of course!

And finally I wanted to share something I rec'd in an email.  I love this...

      Subject: A Dog's Purpose

      A Dog's Purpose - from a 4-year old . . .

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year old Irish
Wolfhound named Belker.  The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and
their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker and they were hoping
      for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer.  I told the family
we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia
procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be
good for the four-year old Shane to observe the procedure.  They felt as
though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family
surrounded him.  Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last
time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.  Within a few
minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.  The little boy seemed to
accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion

We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about
the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.  Shane, who had
been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why."

Startled, we all turned to him.  What came out of his mouth next stunned
me.  I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.

He said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life
-- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?"  The
four-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so
they don't have to stay as long."

Live simply.  Love generously.  Care deeply.  Speak kindly.

Miriel's Deviation Love Of The Week

"The Journey" by Tammara
A tribute to her son Jeremiah, a deep, abiding love shines through in every detail of this beautifully wrought work.  I could not stop the tears that came reading through Tammara's description of her journey to complete this and so tell the story of Jeremiah's.

Monday Haha's

Bad Day

Things got you down? Well then, consider these . . .

In a hospital's Intensive Care Unit, patients always died in the same bed, on Sunday morning, at about 11:00 a.m., regardless of their medical condition. This puzzled the doctors and some even thought it had something to do with the supernatural. No one could solve the mystery as to why the deaths occurred around 11:00 a.m Sunday, so a worldwide team of experts was assembled to investigate the cause of the incidents.

The next Sunday morning, a few minutes before 11:00 am., all of the doctors and nurses nervously waited outside the ward to see for themselves what the terrible phenomenon was all about. Some were holding wooden crosses, prayer books, and other holy objects to ward off the evil spirits. Just when the clock struck 11:00, Pookie Johnson, the part- time Sunday sweeper, entered the ward and unplugged the life support system so he could use the vacuum cleaner.

Still having a bad day?

The average cost of rehabilitating a seal after the Exxon Valdez Oil spill in Alaska was $80,000.00. At a special ceremony, two of the most expensively saved animals were being released back into the wild amid cheers and applause from onlookers.

A minute later, in full view, a killer whale ate them both.

Do you really think you're having a bad day?

A woman came home to find her husband in the kitchen shaking frantically, almost in a dancing frenzy, with some kind of wire running from his waist towards the electric kettle. Intending to jolt him away from the deadly current, she whacked him with a handy plank of wood, breaking his arm in two places.

Up to that moment, he had been happily listening to his Walkman.

Are You ok now?  No?

Two animal rights defenders were protesting the cruelty of sending pigs to a slaughterhouse in Bonn, Germany . Suddenly, all two thousand pigs broke loose and escaped through a broken fence, stampeding madly.

The two helpless protesters were trampled to death.

Well, that definitely puts my day into perspective!

:giggle:

Grandpa

A man came to visit his grandparents, and he noticed his grandfather sitting
on the porch, in the rocking chair, wearing only a shirt, with nothing on
from the waist down. "Grandpa, what are you doing? Your weenie is out in
the wind for everyone to see!" he exclaimed. The old man looked off in the
distance without answering. "Grandpa, what are you doing sitting out here
with nothing on below the waist?" he asked again. The old man slowly looked
at him and said, "Well....last week I sat out here with no shirt on, and I
got a stiff neck. This is your grandma's idea."

:lmao:

Are You Ready for Children?

Mess Test: Smear peanut butter on the sofa and curtains. Now rub your hands in the wet flowerbed and rub on the walls. Cover the stains with crayons. Place a fish stick behind the couch and leave it there all summer.

Toy Test: Obtain a 55-gallon box of Lego's. (If Lego's are not available, you may substitute roofing tacks or broken bottles.) Have a friend spread them all over the house. Put on a blindfold. Try to walk to the bathroom or kitchen. Do not scream. (This could wake a child at night.)

Grocery Store Test: Borrow one or two small animals (goats are best) and take them with you as you shop at the grocery store. Always keep them in sight and pay for anything they eat or damage.

Dressing Test: Obtain one large, unhappy, live octopus. Stuff into a small net bag making sure that all arms stay inside.

Feeding Test: Obtain a large plastic milk jug. Fill halfway with water. Suspend from the ceiling with a stout cord. Start the jug swinging. Try to insert spoonfuls of soggy cereal (such as Fruit Loops or Cheerios) into the mouth of the jug, while pretending to be an airplane. Now dump the contents of the jug on the floor.

Night Test: Prepare by obtaining a small cloth bag and fill it with 8 - 12 pounds of sand. Soak it thoroughly in water. At 8:00 PM begin to waltz and hum with the bag until 9:00 PM. Lay down your bag and set your alarm for 10:00 PM. Get up, pick up your bag, and sing every song you have ever heard. Make up about a dozen more and sing these too until 4:00 AM. Set alarm for 5:00 AM. Get up and make breakfast. Keep this up for 5 years. Look cheerful.

Physical Test (Women): Obtain a large beanbag chair and attach it to the front of your clothes. Leave it there for 9 months. Now remove 10 of the beans.

Physical Test (Men): Go to the nearest drug store. Set your wallet on the counter. Ask the clerk to help himself. Now proceed to the nearest food store. Go to the head office and arrange for your paycheck to be directly deposited to the store. Purchase a newspaper. Go home and read it quietly for the last time.

Final Assignment: Find a couple who already has a small child. Lecture them on how they can improve their discipline, patience, tolerance, toilet training, and child's table manners. Suggest many ways they can improve. Emphasize to them that they should never allow their children to run riot. Enjoy this experience. It will be the last time you will have all the answers.
